Motivational Activity Monitors
We use two technical devices in fitness monitoring. One is called a
heart rate monitor and the other is called an accelerometer. These
monitors allow clients to check how they are doing anytime during the day
to see if they are on track to meeting their goals. They act as your
7-day a week, 24-hour personal trainer - giving busy people the flexibility and
versatility they need to stick with the program.

How
it works
About Us
|
|
The Heart Rate Monitor accurately measures your intensity of exercise so
you will be confident you are spending every minute achieving your
goals. If you do not exercise by heart rate, you can actually be
deconditioning yourself. This is why people who exercise regularly
find they are not getting any new results and wonder why exercise does not
work for them. It is because they are doing the same workout day in
and day out without changing intensities. The Heart Rate Monitor
eliminates this problem, so you use your exercise time effectively and
efficiently! |

The accelerometer (manufactured by Caltrac) will accurately measure your
total calories burned during every activity you do. Because one pound
of fat is equal to 3500 calories, it is critical to your success to know
how many calories you burn in your current lifestyle, and then to
progressively burn more calories over time. The Caltrac calculates
calories used while shopping, doing housework and yard work, as well as
during exercise sessions. This is important because you will learn
that simply moving more will help you lose weight, and every calorie
burned counts. |

Diaries
Fitness by Phone® is so successful because you
will be in charge of documenting your own achievements each day on
specially designed fitness diaries. This gives you more control over
your results, by keeping you on track with your goals and daily
progress. The goals for each day are very specific so you know
exactly what is expected of you. You will know the type of exercise
to do, how long to do it, what heart rate level you should be
working at, how many calories you burn while exercising, and how many
calories you burn for the entire day. Don't worry, we schedule rest
days each week -- you will not be expected to work out 7 days a
week. However, you will still be expected to keep moving on your
rest days.

Master Coaching
Through weekly telephone coaching sessions (lasting 20 minutes) you will
get specific focus and direction and new progressive goals so
that you continue to get new results. These phone appointments
become even more important when you are on a business trip, on vacation,
sick or busy. These are the times when people usually drop out of
their exercise program, and fall into the pattern of all or nothing, which
usually means nothing. Your coach will take into consideration your
weekly schedule and adjust your goals accordingly. The number
one reason people are not successful with exercise is because they quit
after only a few weeks, this system is designed to keep your motivated and
moving, even when your life is busy. |
|
Secret of Accountability
By holding you accountable to someone other than yourself, the likelihood of sticking to your exercise program increases by over
2200%. Lack of motivation and commitment are the two main reasons
why people drop out of an exercise program. The accountability of
making weekly progress reports to your coach will keep you motivated and
will provide you the support you need over time.
