Fitness Program Guidelines

Initially, the fitness program should attempt to recruit as many quadriceps muscle fibers as possible.  Care should be taken to avoid high impact activities and leg extension machine.  If pain or swelling should develop, the program should be discontinued.
The stationary bike should be used, placing the seat on a high setting so that the knee does not have to bend too much.  Standing Terminal Knee Extensions  (TKE) should be done to recruit the vastus medialis and stretching of the  IT Band, quadriceps, hamstrings and hip flexors should be done.    See Exercise of the month.
